Hospital Indemnity

Cash per day if you are in the hospital

Hospital indemnity is a supplemental plan that pays cash directly to the employee when a covered accident or sickness puts them in the hospital. Payments are set amounts per admission and per day, and the money can be used for anything: bills, rent, food, or travel. An enhanced option adds cash for emergency room visits, skilled nursing, and mental health or substance abuse confinement.

What this plan includes

• $500 cash for a hospital admission, once per year
• $100 per day for a hospital stay, up to 180 days per year
• $200 per day for an intensive care unit stay, up to 10 days per year
• Option 2 adds $50 per emergency room visit plus $50 per day for skilled nursing or mental health and substance abuse confinement, up to 30 days each
• No age-related benefit reductions; employee paid
• Covers employee only, employee and spouse, employee and children, or employee and family
